Hands-On Family Fun

We’ve got hands-on family fun down to a science. Yes, it’s true, you can have fun and learn something too! The Tommy Bartlett Exploratory has more than 150 interactive activities ranging from mind-boggling puzzles using simple blocks to computerized toys that use virtual reality and simulation technologies.

Find out if you are gutsy enough to take a ride on our High Wire SkyCycle (seasonal). It’s the world’s thinnest bike trail on a one-inch cable positioned 12 feet in the air. Do you dare? Or, you can challenge your noggin with a variety of other new features. Take control of our hydraulic backhoe and see how many colored balls you can scoop up on “The Big Dig” exhibit. You can also get in the game in the "Virtual Sports Center,” playing hockey, basketball or trying out the GavBall, a futuristic sport set in a weightless environment. Stay busy for hours with games, puzzles and touch-screen computers. There is no such thing as “don’t touch” in this place, as you are encouraged to dig-in, grab, twist, turn, kick, bop, pull, jump, think, guess and yes, learn!
